Managed Web Application, API, And DDoS Protection At The Edge
Cloudbric sells cloud and edge-based web security as a managed service and is operated by Penta Security Inc., which completed a merger with the business in October 2023. It began in 2015 as an in-house effort at Penta Security and works from Seoul, South Korea. Customers cluster in healthcare, finance, the public sector, and blockchain, and the company reports on the order of 100,000 references across 114 countries, including small sites that cannot staff their own security team.
The core product, Cloudbric WAF+, is a fully managed web application and API protection service. Traffic is routed through the Cloudbric edge, where the engine inspects it for web attacks, API abuse, malicious bots, and application-layer exploits, with rule tuning and optimization handled by the vendor rather than left to the customer. Cloudbric ADDoS absorbs volumetric denial-of-service traffic on the same edge network, and Cloudbric CDN delivers content from it.
For teams already standardized on AWS, Cloudbric WMS manages AWS WAF with AI-assisted rule optimization, and Cloudbric Managed Rules ships rule groups sold through AWS Marketplace, so the detection logic can be consumed without moving traffic. Consumer-facing products include a VPN service and Cryptobric, a mobile app aimed at phishing and smishing. Detection is fed by Cloudbric Labs, the company's threat intelligence effort built on data gathered from the properties it protects.
