Spanish Technology Consultancy Delivering Managed Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation
Founded in Madrid in 2003, Babel is an international technology consultancy that supports large enterprises and public bodies through digital transformation programmes. Cybersecurity sits alongside data and AI, cloud, hyperautomation, customer experience and application development in its service portfolio. The firm reports roughly 4,100 employees and operates from offices across Spain and Portugal as well as Morocco, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic, serving banking, insurance, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, transport, defence and public administration clients.
The security practice is structured around the six functions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework: govern, identify, protect, detect, respond and recover. Consulting engagements cover risk assessment, asset prioritisation, regulatory compliance and operational resilience planning, while delivery runs through an in-house eSOC and CSIRT providing 24/7 monitoring, anomaly detection and incident response. Additional services include digital identity protection, security awareness and cultural change work, Security Infrastructure as a Service, and cyber-monitoring of external, deep and dark web sources for leaked credentials, phishing infrastructure and brand abuse.
Positioning is that of an integrator and managed service provider rather than a product vendor, with delivery built on partnerships spanning Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, IBM QRadar, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Microsoft, CyberArk, Okta, Check Point, F5, Google Cloud and Claroty for OT and IoT environments. Sector-specific packaging and multi-country coverage are the stated differentiators, with published figures citing more than 130 protected organisations and over 200 audits annually. Growth has come partly through acquisition, and Mubadala Capital became majority shareholder in October 2024.
