MSSP, MDR, and Digital Forensics for Law Firms and Enterprises
Avalon Cyber is the cybersecurity practice of Avalon, a firm founded in 2000 in Syracuse, New York, that began in legal copy and document services and grew into eDiscovery, digital forensics, and managed document review. That heritage shapes the client base: law firms, corporate legal teams, and enterprises managing litigation portfolios, alongside manufacturers and defence firms. Avalon runs offices in Buffalo, Cleveland, New York City, Omaha, Phoenix, Rochester, Syracuse, and Tampa.
The cybersecurity work is organised in three bands. Proactive services cover penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, phishing simulation and training, Microsoft 365 security assessments, dark web monitoring, security advisory, and virtual CISO engagements. Active services are the managed side: managed detection and response, tiered MDR service plans, SIEM and managed SOC, and KnightVision MXDR for extended detection and response. Reactive services handle incident response, retainer programmes, data breach review, and breach notification.
The forensics and eDiscovery side gives the cyber practice capabilities most managed providers do not carry in house: computer, mobile, and cloud forensics with defensible preservation and chain of custody, plus data breach review staffed by the same review teams that handle litigation. Avalon is a SOC 2 service provider across eDiscovery, secure print and mail, and cybersecurity, and its engineers hold certifications including CISSP, OSCP, GPEN, CISA, GXPN, and CFCE.
