Defense-Grade Cyber Research, Trusted Systems and Multi-Domain Security for Government

Founded in 2001, Assured Information Security is a Rome, New York cyber research and engineering firm serving the U.S. Department of Defense, intelligence agencies, defense primes and, increasingly, commercial manufacturers. The company began by staffing and operating the Adversarial Sciences Laboratory inside the Air Force Research Laboratory's Information Directorate, and has since expanded into product development, consulting, testing, forensics, remediation and training. Secondary markets include automotive, heavy trucking and OEM suppliers seeking security engineering for embedded and connected platforms.

Work is organized around five capability areas — cyber operations, trusted systems, C5ISR, mission solutions and advanced research — with technology spun out of that research into fielded products. SecureView virtualizes a single workstation so an operator can reach several classified networks at different security levels; Beam provides remote access without exposing endpoints to hostile public networks; Metasponse supplies an extensible framework for malware detection and incident response; and IntroVirt uses a customized Xen hypervisor to inspect guest virtual machine memory at runtime.

Positioning rests on depth in adversarial and low-level systems work rather than the breadth of a commercial security suite. The firm is an NSA-approved Trusted Integrator for Commercial Solutions for Classified, and offers AI/ML red teaming, threat modeling and secure product consulting alongside its tools. Canarix addresses ransomware on endpoints and servers, while FISSURE, an open-source RF and reverse-engineering framework, is published for the wider community. Now past its twenty-fifth year, it remains an R&D-led contractor whose products originate in exploratory research.
