AI-Based Intrusion Detection and Preemptive Ransomware Protection

ArmorxAI is a US-based cybersecurity company focused narrowly on ransomware, marketing what it calls preemptive protection for Windows 10 and 11 desktops, Windows Server 2019 and 2022, and enterprise Linux distributions including Red Hat, SUSE, Oracle Linux and Ubuntu LTS. Founded and led by CEO Sudesh Kumar, the company grew out of deep-technology research funded by National Science Foundation SBIR Phase I and Phase II grants, and it later completed the Defense Innovation Unit's Propel accelerator for defense technology adoption.

The approach is structured around three phases rather than a single detection event. Before an attack, the agent runs security posture checks, static analysis and behavioral fingerprinting to identify ransomware before it launches. During an attack, it operates at kernel level, using system calls alongside process analysis, file pattern analysis, heuristic models and machine learning to detect, inoculate or isolate an affected endpoint in milliseconds. After the fact, SIEM integration and alert notifications route the event to the security team for rapid containment.

Packaging separates the enforcement agent, RansomArmor Monitor, from ArmorxAI Director, an on-premises or cloud management console handling dashboards, multi-site visibility and customizable policy. A third component, Ransom Observer, runs the same detection engine with enforcement architecturally disabled, silently logging what would have been blocked over roughly a two-week window so teams can build a verified allow-list before switching protection on. Positioning is deliberately defense-in-depth and complementary to existing security investments rather than a replacement, with the underlying technology described as patent pending.
