Biometric Digital Identity and Document Wallet Replacing Cards and Passwords

A3BC is a digital identity company founded in 2018 and based in Rennes, France. Its stated goal is to remove cards, codes, and passwords from the act of proving who you are, both online and face to face. It sells on two fronts: TrustMe, a consumer application on iOS and Android, and a business platform marketed as an identity layer that goes past conventional IAM. Its named partners and backers include BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Luminess, and the regional Breton administration.

A user creates a digital identity in TrustMe and stores personal records inside it: passwords, identity documents, diplomas, tax notices. Authentication is biometric, with support for fingerprint, finger vein, eye, and face recognition, so a transaction is approved by the person present rather than by a secret they have memorized or a card they carry. Onboarding includes KYC and liveness checks that bind the identity to a real individual, and the storage of the underlying data is covered by the company's patents.

The design is GDPR compliant and uses blockchain to support self-sovereign identity, meaning the holder keeps the credentials and chooses what to disclose instead of a provider maintaining a central profile of them. A3BC has TrustMe deployed in production and has been working toward eIDAS certification at substantial level with ANSSI, the French national cybersecurity agency, which is the qualification that opens regulated French use cases to a digital identity scheme.
