Real-Time Anti-DDoS and DNS Security for Operators and Critical Infrastructure
6cure is a French cybersecurity vendor focused on active defense of network availability, building anti-DDoS and DNS security products for internet infrastructure operators, data centers, cloud providers and managed service providers. The company was founded in January 2010 in Normandy, growing out of Orange Labs research and led by Fabrice Clerc, who had previously run an information systems security R&D unit at France Telecom-Orange. Its customers are organizations protecting their own critical services or reselling mitigation as a value-added offer to their own clients.
The core product, 6cure Threat Protection, applies patented traffic-analysis algorithms that separate legitimate sessions from attack traffic in real time, filtering volumetric floods and application-layer abuse simultaneously and claiming a time-to-mitigate under five seconds. Deployment is flexible: physical or virtual appliances sit at internet access points or in front of cloud applications, upstream instances run inside operator and cloud provider networks, and hybrid setups combine both. A companion product, 6cure DNS Protection, embeds equivalent detection and response directly into DNS infrastructure.
Positioning rests on sovereignty and filtering granularity rather than global scrubbing scale. The products are developed and manufactured in France, and both Threat Protection and DNS Protection carry the France Cybersecurity label, awarded in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Beyond mitigation, the portfolio includes DDoS Intelligence for attack assessment and DDoS Assessment for infrastructure resilience auditing. The DNS offering also addresses cache poisoning, tunneling, botnet callbacks and data exfiltration, letting operators treat DNS traffic as an early-warning sensor. Memberships include Hexatrust and ACN.
